Jungle agricultures from the former Ford Factory
The plantation city of Fordlandia was founded in 1927 by Henry Ford to develop a steady rubber harvest for his motorcar empire. By 1946, it was declared an industrial production failure. How do rivers, roads, and rubber shape Fordlandia today? How do forces of production and migration organize its economies, ecosystems, and agricultures? Co-broadcast with 97.5FM Fordlandia, a station co-founded by Radioee and the Fordlandia school. In Portuguese + Spanish + English.
Brazilian sound collaborators include Ruli Moretti, Mat Guzzo, Veronique Isabelle, Gabi Marthino, and Angelo Madson. Presented as part of the apexart Franchise Exhibition program. Thanks to 80 Kickstarter backers who supported the project.
